Working with negative space, this painting was created from the reverse of the fabric in a process that resembles ancient ikat tie-dye techniques. The experimental technique developed for this series of artworks explores the tension between organic and inorganic materials. Through a process of layering, the final figuration emerges. A creative process that takes joy in the unpredictability of the final result.
